• The mission of the CCHC Foundation is to serve those who have been touched by cancer by providing support and resources that focus on the whole person: mind, body and spirit.

There are a variety of programs available through the CCHC Foundation that will benefit patients and their families as they deal with the effects of chronic illness and its treatment. Our programs include:

  • Financial counseling and support*: We provide gas cards, grocery cards,  assistance with medications (work with local pharmacy), medical supplies (lymphedema sleeves, breast prostheses, wheel chairs, walkers, etc), nutritional supplements, grocery cards, etc. *Available for patients who meet financial criteria.
  • Transportation assistance: We provide gas cards to assist patients with the additional costs of getting to and from appointments.
  • The Journey Connection Support Group: a peer-to-peer based group designed to connect long term cancer survivors with those who are newly diagnosed. Participants are paired to match Journey Guide and Journey Travelers together to provide support and share experiences from personal journeys. Each connection is unique and partners are paired together based on specific needs, interests and preferences. Some may wish to be paired with a survivor of their same diagnosis or treatment type while others may prefer to be matched with someone of similar age or family situation. The Journey Connection strives to meet whatever need or preference you may have in a compassionate, respectful and private manner.
  • Prostate Cancer Support Group of Craven County: Support group that meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 9:00am at the Golden Corral in New Bern. Please contact Bill Marotti for more information at 252-514-9833
